Combine harvesters are rightfully considered multitask machines to harvest cereal crops with maximal efficiency. In point of a fact, harvesters perform three basic harvesting operations (cropper, threshing and screening) by joining them up into a single process. Thereby, combines harvest oats, wheats, soybeans and other grain crops. One of the main distinguishing features inherent for harvesters is theirs economy which allows to decrease the amount of people engaged in agricultural industry.
From structural viewpoint, combines has a few joints, each of which perfrom its function. Cereals crops are picked up with special headers at the front of machines that has special pincers at both ends. The header can be easily removed or towed so that it could fit narrow furrows. The reel (slowly rotating wheel at the front) pushes the crops down to hatchet. The cutter bar runs the full length of the header under the spool. Its sharpenings open and close time and again, sweeping all the way at ground level. The threshing drum handles the crops and brush grains off from their stems. And when the storage of grains gets full, a tractor trucks with a trailer pulls alongside the harvester.
